December 2003: Pen and Colored Pencils.

Explanation: Ivy and Ruben amuse themselves with a seatmate’s crayons while on a very long bus ride. Ivy draws her first self-portrait, revealing her substantial artistic skills. Yeah right.

IVY TRIVIA: In this scene, Ruben goes on to tease Ivy that she drew her ears behind her hair just like in real life. For some reason her ears embarrass her more than any other one of her differences. She doesn’t often understand people’s references if they tease her–she doesn’t know much about elves, and since she’s never seen Star Trek she doesn’t know what people mean if they mention Vulcans (not to mention she can’t manage their greeting). She just knows she hates being mocked.
