Caption: Ivy and Nicholas listen to the wind.
Explanation: Nicholas claims that the wind can speak, and because both of them have an intimate connection to the air, he suggests she learn to interpret its language. She strains to hear something, but most of what she hears sounds more like music.
IVY TRIVIA: Though air does make a special kind of music for both of them, Nicholas’s claim that the wind tells him things is untrue, even though he believes it. He has a keen intuition above and beyond that of a normal man, but is too humble to believe he could know these things on his own. So he invents phantom voices on the wind that “tell” him, rather than accept he knows on his own.
